The delayed returns were primarily filed on January 17 and 18th. The IRS delays were caused by new fraud screening software at the IRS. According to sources, the IRS is activity working on releasing these delayed refunds. We expect these refunds to be released by the IRS by the end of this week.

The IRS released this week's large group of refunds around 12 noon today. In past weeks, the IRS had released these refunds on Wednesday, or on Thursday morning. This week, possibly due to the surge of returns filed last week, the IRS was later than usual releasing this week's large group of refunds. ERC checks related to these refunds are now being released

Please remember that the entire U.S. Banking system is closed on Monday February 21 due to a federal holiday. As a result, please note that banks are unable to post deposits into taxpayer bank accounts on Monday. Taxpayers expecting funds to post to their accounts could experience a delay due to their bank being closed on Monday

Louisiana has released a statement indicating that they are having hardware issues which is causing a delay with Louisiana acknowledgements. Per Louisiana, all outstanding acknowledgements should be available by Monday, February 14th.
