***OUTDATED... CHECK FOR NEW UPDATES***Brand new 12z data as of 1:20pm… The HWRF (tropical model) and Euro (global model) are nearly identical. Both suggest a category 1 hurricane between New Orleans and Mobile on Saturday.

If correct, this would produce heavy rain, strong wind, dangerous surf, and a storm surge along the Alabama Gulf Coast Friday night and Saturday. This type of setup would require a tropical storm warning if not a hurricane warning along the Alabama coastline. Again, only assuming this is correct…

For inland parts of west Alabama, rain, gusty winds and isolated tornadoes would be possible on Saturday.

Got a call today that I wish I didn’t have to receive.

A homeowner reached out after a recent storm damaged their roof. They filed a claim. Their insurance company paid $0. It’s too late to switch companies, it happened on x date.

That homeowner overall has paid $15,000 out of their own pocket to fix their roof/ house.

Think about that for a second. The whole reason most people buy a home is to build equity — to build wealth. That “investment” they were so proud of just took a $15,000 step backward because of the insurance company they chose.

Here’s the truth nobody talks about when you’re sitting at the closing table:

Your home is only as strong an asset as the insurance company standing behind it.
