A 50 year mortgage is just renting from the bank. Only difference is youre responsible for all repairs and if the home goes underwater, youre stuck... at 8% interest, in 10 years, you will only pay down 7 THOUSAND DOLLARS on a 50 year term on a purchase of 300k with 3% down. Dont take the bait people! This is a guise of "home ownership".
