Oh, sweet woman walking through this day,
When hearts fill the windows and roses shout “stay,”
You may feel brave… or broken… or numb in between,
Or grieving a love that once felt like a dream.
So here is my Valentine, tender and true.
It’s not for a partner. It’s written for you.
Be gentle today with the ache in your chest.
Be proud of the courage that won’t let you rest
Until truth is spoken, and clarity found,
And your feet are back on steadier ground.
If you’re angry, that’s human.
If you’re hopeful, that’s too.
If you’re stuck in the middle, not sure what to do.
That’s grief doing circles. It’s messy and wide.
You’re not weak for the tears you’re trying to hide.
Love is not measured by who holds your hand.
It’s measured by how firmly you choose where you stand.
And choosing yourself, your safety, your voice,
Is not a rejection. It’s a powerful choice.
So, buy your own flowers. Light your own spark.
Take up more space. Step out of the dark.
This “weird holiday” doesn’t define your worth.
You were whole before marriage. You’re whole on this earth.
Tonight, whisper softly: I am allowed
To grieve what I lost and still feel proud.
Because the bravest kind of” love” you’ll ever see
Is the woman who says, “I choose me.” 💜
