If you have health insurance through the Marketplace and receive a Form 1095-A, make sure your estimated income and household information are updated at HealthCare.gov.

Beginning with the 2026 tax year, if you receive more Premium Tax Credit than you qualify for, you may have to repay the full excess amount. This could lower your refund or cause you to owe taxes.

Report changes such as:

✅ Increased or decreased income
✅ New job or loss of employment
✅ Marriage or divorce
✅ Birth, adoption or household changes
✅ Eligibility for other health coverage

Updating your information now can help prevent an unexpected tax bill later.
