Medicare isn't the only coverage season this fall. If you're under 65 and buy your own health insurance, the Marketplace opens on November 1 for next year.

The easiest mistake is letting last year's plan renew without looking at it. It feels like the safe option, but plans change what they cover and what they charge, and any subsidy you qualify for rests on an income estimate you gave when you last enrolled. If your income shifted, your costs likely did too.

It's also easy to forget that the Marketplace isn't the only place to shop. Team West Insurance can compare options inside and outside the Marketplace, and looking at both is the only way to know which one fits your household.
