We're getting festive in here! All three of us LOVE Christmas, yet this is the first year we've had a tree in the office! What is wrong with us?! I say we leave it up all year to make up for lost time. :)

As much as I'd like to take credit for all these wonderful ideas that I share on the blog, I haven't had an original idea all my life. Our clients teach us so much every day. This month, I decided to go straight to the source. I asked a handful of our clients what money advice they'd give to younger generations and I'm sharing SIX of those great tips!

Over the course of my nearly ten-year career in finance, I have taught a lot of people about saving, investing, making smart financial decisions and so on. I’ve now run this blog full of financial advice for just over 4 years. In that time, I have never once had an original idea. I wish I could te...

I have been a financial advisor for almost 10 years and a mom for 6. Layla has spent the month of June in the office enjoying a little more mom time before she stays with our beloved babysitter. Thanks to my gracious business partner, I've been able to be both fully mom and fully advisor. It isn't always pretty, but we make it work. Over the years, I have had clients sit on the floor playing tractors with my boys and more recently bounce a fussy Layla while I finished filling out forms. Sometimes in our line of work we get so wrapped up in learning everything about our clients' lives that we forget to let them into ours. Being a mom is one of my greatest joys in life, and the opportunity to share that with my wonderful clients is worth the occasional chaos. In the wise words of a beloved author, hard isn't the same thing as bad.

We are often asked by our clients about savings options for their kids and grandkids. Well, today I am talking about just that.

With our third baby due this spring, my husband and I have been making some changes to our budget. Additional childcare costs, diapers, medical bills, you name it; kids aren’t cheap. We’ve also spent a lot of time talking about saving for our kids’ futures. I get asked by clients about savings...

A million dollars may seem like a daunting figure if you haven't been diligent about saving for retirement, but there's good news: you don't have to make $1 million to save $1 million.
