Our hearts ache for the individuals, families, friends, colleagues who are suffering in the aftermath of the tragic shooting in Lewiston. Our gratitude for the first responders in this awful situation can't be expressed loudly enough. We mourn the loss of the feeling of security and safety our beautiful state has become known for. Something must change in order for these senseless tragedies to end.

This year Brainstorm Business Services is invited to Gusto Next 2023 in San Francisco, and we cannot be more excited to attend starting TOMORROW! We were chosen to attend this year as one of Gusto's top 150 Partners. We have many clients that use Gusto as their Payroll provider, and will continue to suggest Gusto to all of our small-mid size businesses. Gusto has the best customer service in the industry, and their software is easy to use. Their payroll reports are👌. We are excited to provide more people advisory services to our Client with the use of Gusto's resources and customer service. AND we are happy to help our clients navigate newer state compliance regarding employee benefits with the help of some of Gusto's Partners, like Human Interest. An inspiring success story fueled by courage, determination, family support and delicious donuts!! Happy Anniversary The Holy Donut! ❤

Today marks our 10th Anniversary of our first location at 194 Park Avenue in Portland! So much has transpired since our founder, Leigh Kellis, began making donuts in her kitchen on Munjoy Hill for wholesale in local coffee shops in Portland in 2012. She was a single mother, working hard and striving to build a better life for her and her daughter by making a one of a kind, wholesome treat you could feel good about eating. She did just that.

Our team is grateful for her creativity and courage to start the business and for the fortitude, resiliency and the faith the family demonstrated to set the stage for where our company is at today.

Leigh's father Allan jumped in during the early days of the wholesale business doing whatever was needed to help his daughter and continued doing whatever was necessary as shops on Exchange Street and in Scarborough came to life. Leigh's mother Cynthia, in a selfless act of faith, emptied her savings to fund the fit up of the Park Avenue store. Leigh's sister Elizabeth was one of the first employees at the Park Avenue store establishing the standards by which we serve all of our guests before turning her attention to setting up systems in the back office. Each of the children have spent time in the stores slinging donuts and understanding what it means to be "donut tired."

It's been inspiring to witness a family dismiss the odds and come together to pursue the American dream of building a unique and thoughtful company that was born out of hope. Our family now extends out beyond our founding family and is now more than 120 strong and growing! Each member of our donut family, past and present, is an important part of our story and helps to shape our culture, our journey and our future.

We owe a sincere debt of gratitude to our communities and loyal fans that have supported our company so mightily through the years. We are also grateful for the many thoughtful mentors that have helped us learn along the way. Without your support we wouldn't be here. Thank you. We look forward to being a small part of your life and your nostalgic memories for decades to come. Na Zdrowie!
