"Just be a smarter healthcare consumer." β
It's the advice everyone gives employees. It's also a little bit of a lazy answer.
Telling someone to "shop around" for care while they're sick, scared, or staring at a bill they can't decode isn't a strategy - it's a shrug.
The real work is harder: building plans where the smart choice is also the obvious one. Where telemedicine, generics, in-network pharmacies, and preventive care aren't hidden behind jargon - they're the path of least resistance.
Education matters. But benefits education without design is just homework.
