The first Workforce Development Seminar of the year was a historic moment 🏛️🤝🏡.
A day of inspiration and networking. The evening was kicked off by two seniors from Vertus High School who shared their experience being the only two Latino students in their ACE Mentor's Program class. A class of over fourty students. Their speech was so empowering that it sparked a discussion in a room full of fifty-two people. The room was filled testimonies with from business executives from some of the biggest corporations in upstate New York, representatives from local government agencies, non- profit organizations, students and their mentors, small business owners, local leaders, and other members of the community.
It was an honor to be part of such special moment. It is an example of how different organizations, agencies, corporations, and members of the community can come together to have an open discussion in a safe space.
Thank you Brockport Small Business Development Center, North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, and the Financial Empowerment Center for partnering up with us for this event!
