With World Elder Abuse Awareness Day happening today, we wanted to remind seniors and their family members to guard against financial exploitation.

Older Americans lose roughly $7 billion to a growing number of scams each year, according to the United States Senate Special Committee on Aging. But only one in 44 cases get reported, according to the National Adult Protective Services Association, putting the true cost as high as $82 billion annually.

Our community bank employees are trained on the latest fraud prevention techniques and are available as a resource as well. We can help you spot potential scams and take appropriate measures to protect your account if you suspect you have been a victim of financial fraud. Remember we will NEVER email or call you to ask you for your personal information as a requirement for getting additional security to manage your accounts online.
