Realtors and others : don't fall for clickbait.

Nothing has changed regarding lending and their treatment of real estate commissions. The announcements made yesterday quite literally "addressed the current treatment" of the rules.

The clarification is that if you continue to negotiate your commissions as paid for by the seller - that will have no impact on the amount of concessions your buyers can receive to discount their closing costs.

"If a seller or seller’s real estate agent continues to pay the buyer’s real estate agent commission in accordance with local common and customary practices, these amounts are not required to be counted towards the IPC limits for the transaction."
