February did not scream breakout. It whispered strength.

Markets moved higher. Inflation cooled. Yields behaved. And AI quietly shifted from hype to hardware.

Data centers, power grids, semiconductors, real capital being deployed.

This is not just a software cycle. It is an infrastructure cycle.

In this month’s Market Chronicle, we break down what is actually driving the market and what risks still matter.

Patience is not flashy. It compounds.

Presidents Day reminder: markets may close, but history keeps trading lessons nonstop. Leadership, discipline, and long-term thinking still compound better than short-term noise. Enjoy the long weekend. We’ll be back to watching the tape tomorrow.

January didn’t start with fireworks, and that may be a good thing. Inflation cooled at the margins, earnings rewarded solid businesses over flashy stories, rates stayed well behaved, and investors showed a bit more discipline than usual. We shared my thoughts in The Market Chronicle January 2026 on Substack. It’s a short, practical market review with no hype and no doom. If you like calm analysis over loud headlines, you may enjoy it. Link in comments.

A 50% aircraft tariff sounds simple. Aircraft supply chains are not. A quick breakdown on why this headline matters more than it looks.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Progress is never automatic. It is built by courage, discipline, and moral clarity. Honoring a life that reminded us that justice requires action, and that character matters more than comfort. We move forward by choosing the hard right over the easy wrong.

Layoff headlines are loud, but the data is quieter. Unemployment is 4.6%, S&P 500 margins are still around 12%, and big tech is planning $200B+ a year in AI and infrastructure spending. Meanwhile, 25%–30% of white-collar tasks can already be automated. Companies are cutting where work is easiest to replace and reinvesting where it actually moves the needle. Not a meltdown. More like an efficiency upgrade. If you zoom out, this looks less like an economy breaking and more like one getting stricter about productivity.

U.S. healthcare costs keep rising, and the ACA subsidy debate is only part of the story. The real pressure comes from administrative complexity, high deductibles, and a system where 100 million adults carry medical debt. If we want true affordability, we have to redesign the structure, not just patch it.

U.S. GDP is projected to grow about 3%, and the strongest driver is large scale investment in data centers, power capacity, and advanced manufacturing. The current expansion is being led by infrastructure and industrial buildout rather than consumer spending.

The U.S. market is shifting fast. Small caps just hit record highs. AI and semiconductors keep driving growth. Crypto is entering regulated territory. And American diplomacy is now tied directly to industrial strategy. A massive turning point is forming. If you follow markets, business, or policy, this week matters.
