November 6 Wedding at Cafe Santa Rosa
Life seems to be returning to some sense of normality in a world and country that will never be the same. Couples once again focusing on their lives together, marriage, and plans for how to share it with family and friends.
Saturday’s wedding brought some interesting thoughts. This is a dilemma I often see, and with no offense to all of my photographer friends, we must all evolve, I certainly have!
For thousands of years couples were married, without a single photo to show for it. In the 1800’s still black & white photography was born. In the 1900’s that still photography became moving but silent movies, then sound, then color, well you know.
My wedding on Saturday was small, yet I had helped my couple create some really fun and engaging moments and activities. You’ve heard the expresion “You never get a second chance to make a first impression”... Well, I spent more than three days alone creating very unique introductions for the bride and groom and their wedding party.
These introuductions included stories, video clips and music. Their guests were in awe, the photographer captured some still photos, yet the essence of the moment was lost forever. Photos of your wedding will not capture the actions, words, vows, etc.
I would love for my photographer friends to embrace the change. Their cameras capture both stills and video. More difficult to do both and may have to charge more, but a great option to offer...
I have some ideas for how you can get both… (520) 586-4581
Take a look a few posts below at one of the Grand Entrances that I created for a couple. They did not hear it in advance, and experienced it for the first time with their friends and family. A friend of mine was able to record it using my calll phone... How could a photo alone have captured this?
