Siteco completed the lighting programming on Courts 17-24 today. Lights are operational and will be on automatically from 4:30pm to 10:15pm daily. Bend Park and Recreation District is completing the Dark Sky certification process, but that will not affect light operations for the time being.

Thank you all for your patience with this process. Enjoy the new courts and lighting!

October 13 Lighting Update: We are pleased to announce that a Siteco representative will visit the site on Wednesday, October 28, to program controls, measure preliminary light levels, and provide training to Bend Park & Rec personnel. Pending a successful outcome, Bend Park & Rec will proceed with Dark Sky Compliance. Although a final release date for the system has not been set, we are making progress. We appreciate your continued patience and understanding.

Why you should attend the season closing event Saturday October 10, 10am to Noon:

Celebrate comradery and good times - We’ll all be celebrating the conclusion of a terrific spring and summer season of pickleball play at Pine Nursery Park--before some of you head to warmer climates (we’ll miss you). The remainder of fall and the coming winter seasons (think, Winter League) will still be packed with scheduled round robins and challenge play. So here in Bend we’ll play on!

Mandatory Gear – A paddle for play, primarily. Additionally, as you know, you are required to wear your badge when playing on BPC reserved courts. If you haven’t been wearing yours because you don’t have it, this is your opportunity to claim it. All unclaimed badges for members who joined this year will be displayed on a table at the event. Hope to see the rest of you “badged.”

Coffee & Treats – ‘Nuf said.

See you there!

Courts Lighting Update:
Like you, we are anxious to see the lighting on courts 17-24 up and running and are frustrated with the delay. The latest from Bend Park & Rec District (BP&RD) is that the installation is complete and requires some type of coordination between the General Contractor Kirby Nagelhout (KNCC) and the manufacturer, Siteco.US, to "get things commissioned and running." KNCC has not been able to get any information from Siteco.US as to when they will get that final process done.

So we're just waiting. BPR&D and KNCC are working on the issue but we are all at the mercy of Siteco.US to wrap things up.
