Announced for April 2, the term refers to the Trump administration’s planned rollout of reciprocal tariffs aimed at trade partners with big surpluses and steep barriers to U.S. exports. The idea is to “level the playing field” in global trade, and the hope is more clarity could reduce investor angst – even if that clarity comes with higher trade barriers.
