When I first met Melanie, we had an opportunity to have a very personal conversation about our lives and the paths that brought us to where we are today. I shared some of my story with her being a single mother raising my daughters, building my own business, leading a nonprofit, and the journey that brought my family and me to Whatcom County. Melanie was equally open in sharing parts of her own journey and the experiences that led her to the work she does today.
That initial conversation was a significant part of why I chose to work with Melanie. Purchasing this home was not simply a financial transaction for me. It represented another step forward for my family and an investment in our future. I wanted to work with someone who understood the significance behind the numbers, and I felt that Melanie did.
Like many complicated processes, the road from beginning to closing was not always seamless. That said, what matters most is where we ended up: I closed on a home that I absolutely love.
I appreciate Melanie’s work in helping me reach that point, and I especially appreciate the personal connection we established at the beginning of this process. Homeownership and particularly taking a significant next step in homeownership is deeply personal. For me, it represents years of work, sacrifice, entrepreneurship, motherhood, and building a life in this community.
I also value that my connection with Melanie extends beyond this transaction. We are both involved in nonprofit and community work, and I hope our paths will continue to cross in Whatcom County in the years ahead.
I’m grateful to have completed this milestone and appreciative of Melanie and the CrossCountry Mortgage team for their role in helping me get to the finish line. I’m now settling into a beautiful new home and looking forward to what this next chapter brings for my family.

✨ This is why I love what I do.

Back in 2017, I helped this family with their mortgage. Fast forward to today...we've just celebrated our 8th closing together. 🏡❤️
It's been such a privilege to walk alongside them through different chapters of life, and this latest one was especially meaningful because they wanted to move closer to family.

There was just one challenge...they needed to buy their new home before selling their current one.
Instead of letting that stand in the way, we built a strategy.
✔️ We used a Buy Now, Sell Later cross-collateral loan.
✔️ They submitted a non-contingent offer.
✔️ They won in a competitive market.
✔️ We closed in just two weeks!

Then the next chapter began...
📦 They moved into their new home.
🏡 Their realtor listed their previous home.
🔄 While it was under contract, we started their refinance.
✅ Once it sold, we transitioned them into a conventional loan.
Everything came together exactly as planned.
