is a long established insurance underwriting management firm located in beautiful Bellingham, Washington. Originally a branch office of a larger MGA, the doors first opened in 1997 under the direction of Ken Robinette with a total of four employees. The company has grown and changed over the years, finally becoming an independent office on January 1st, 2006. When Bellingham Underwriters was imagined, the objective was to create a place where meeting the customer’s needs was top priority. Each member of the staff has been given the highest level of authority to accomplish this goal. BUI is not a template underwriting facility; critical thinking is used in every decision we make allowing us to come to the best solution for our producers and carriers alike.

We recently celebrated a significant milestone, 15 years of partnership between Hudson Insurance, Bellingham Underwriters, and National Claims Management. To commemorate this achievement, we attended a Seattle Mariners game and enjoyed an afternoon together in a private suite, complete with food and beverages. The event provided a wonderful opportunity to reflect on and recognize our long-standing partnership, shared successes, and continued collaboration over the years.

Today we fondly remember our beloved friend and coworker, Rod Redfern, on what would have been his 57th birthday. He is deeply missed.

Last week, we hosted a baby shower luncheon for our coworker Matt and his lovely wife, Yuko, who are expecting their first child, a baby girl. The celebration included crafting, games, and plenty of delicious food, making it a fun and memorable event for everyone.

A special thank you to Bree and Dorothy for taking the lead on organizing the party. We'd also like to give a special shout-out to Nic taking the lead on the crafting activities and for generously donating all the crafting supplies.

Events like these are a wonderful reminder of the supportive and caring team we have, and we were thrilled to celebrate this exciting milestone with Matt and Yuko.

☀️Summer Service Event 2026☀️

Our team had a fun and rewarding day giving back to the Bellingham community!

In the morning, we partnered with the City of Bellingham Public Works Volunteer Litter Cleanup Program to help keep our community clean by collecting litter in local public spaces.

In the afternoon, we joined the City of Bellingham Parks Volunteer Program at Cornwall Park, where we worked together to remove invasive English ivy and help protect the park's natural environment.

A huge special thanks to our very own Bree Pacey for organizing this event and making the day such a success. We truly appreciate all the planning, coordination, and effort that went into creating this opportunity for our team to serve our community.

Thankful for the opportunity to give back, connect with colleagues, and make a positive impact right here in Bellingham.

Brad Hamby marked a significant milestone as he celebrated his 40th birthday. Our party theme, 'Flocking 40 and Fabulous,' was a tribute to Brad's vibrant and fun personality. Note the guests' attire, featuring pink, floral, and tropical patterns. Connie prepared a lunch of beef curry and tofu mushroom hot pot with rice. The festivities continued at the bowling alley, and we wrapped things up back at the office with a delicious cake! Happy 4-0 to Brad!!!!

We have elevated the tradition of celebrating Cinco de Mayo in the office and offered an exquisite spread. We had pork adobo, roasted sweet potato filling, Posole with an array of toppings, pork belly Al pastor, beans, multiple salsas and so much more, including non-alcoholic Coronas. 😜 Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

Bellingham is known for its exceptional trails, and Oyster Dome is a standout. The 6 1/2 mile hike comes with nearly 2,000 ft of elevation gain, affording panoramic views of Samish Bay.

We are proud to see our colleagues Bree, Brad, Liz, and Dorothy capitalizing on a beautiful day to venture outdoors.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! We had a potluck that would make a leprechaun jealous. Our spread included corned beef, wagyu corned beef, Irish potato pancakes, Guinness brownies, green fruit/veggies, Colcannon, Irish cream cheese swirl brownies and Irish soda bread.
