Are you (or your client) looking at the Washington State Housing Finance (WSHFC.org) program to buy a home with little or no money down? This is a terrific program that many of my clients have utilized to buy their first home. In the Home Mortgage industry we have a technical term for this - we call these "yucky" rates.

Mortgage rates hit the highest level since the end of 2000, and that is crushing affordability for potential homebuyers.

Wonder why housing is so expensive? Developer has owned this land for 7 years and still hasn't broken ground. I love trees and nature as much as the next guy, but chances are pretty good that the house/neighborhoods we all, already live in were trees and forest at one point. Just saying.

It's been a six-year "battle" between Save Coal Creek advocates and a developer, Isola Homes, that owns 12 acres adjacent to the main trail.

If you, or someone you know...or one of your clients "locked" their rate between September 26 - November 8th (ish) please have them contact me regarding a potential refinance. During that timeframe we saw one of the fastest increases....then decreases in rates ever (or at least the last 25 years, keep in mind chart below is 'inverted'). U.S. Bank has some of the lowest rates & fees in the industry. Especially competitive on loan amounts over $726,200.

This is something I have been meaning to "rant" about. Over the past few years I've been reading articles about Jeff Bezos, Warren Buffet, and Blackrock buying moderately priced homes across the country and turning them into rentals. Normally I'm a pretty "free market" guy, but I do believe in this cause. Corporate America, Billionaires, and Hedge Funds should not be buying up existing affordable housing to turn them into rentals. (Jeff Bezos does NOT need anymore houses!) I would be all for them BUILDING homes and developments for this purpose. But the idea of them squeezing out regular, individual homeowners or would-be homeowners makes me kind of angry. If you're with me on this, please sign this petition (link below). I didn't start it, and cannot confirm the legitimacy, but looks like it's on the right track. Donate if you can (I did), it takes money to change anything.

Limit the corporate ownership and commercial use of single-family residential properties.
