I'm a history buff. It's always been one of my favorite subjects growing up and one of those things I can never learn enough about. Days like today get my history nerd brain excited and grateful.

Beyond the historical significance, the 4th of July is a great chance to take a step back, take a breath, and enjoy time with friends and loved ones. Happy 4th everyone!

I just got back from vacation with my family in Disneyland! One of my family's favorite parts of the Disney experience is the Splash Mountain photo. This is our way of leaving our mark on Disney. It's fun scheming up the next scenario and the necessary props for the picture. This is a series of photos from our previous visits to Disney.

Our newest photo is blocked somewhat by the filters from the ride. But yes your eyes don't deceive, that is us playing badminton! If you look close near the bird, you'll see a cool surprise.

I'm from a family of 7 kids. With a large age gap from youngest to oldest, it can be hard to find similar interests. Disney has always been one of those things that brings the family together regardless of the age gap. Fun family traditions like this keep us excited to go back! Now, what to do for the next photo...

I took my sisters to see the new Doctor Strange movie, which was an absolute blast! My sister, Carols (all the way on the left) is the biggest Marvel fan in my family. We sat next to each other and throughout the movie kept turning to each other in quiet excitement at what was going on. In my family, movie nights have always been a favorite. Whether it's at home or the movie theater, we jump at the chance to get together.

One of our favorite parts about movie night is the post-movie break down. The walk back to the cars was a slow one, but filled with an extensive breakdown of the movie and the things that stood out to us. This is an important tradition in our family and rounds out the viewing experience. Everyone has a take on each movie and it's fun to see what each of us took away from it!

My family is huge on Disney. If there is a new Marvel or Disney movie, you can count on us waiting to watch it together! We'll be seeing the new Lightyear movie in Disneyland in a few weeks as a family, which I'm super pumped for!

I was looking through my Camera Roll and stumbled across some photos from the early pandemic. I went from wearing a suit everyday to wearing casual clothes. This is a throwback to when I went into the empty office wearing some casual clothes. I'm a sneakerhead, so I was excited to wear some of my favorite shoes in the office which I never thought would happen!

It's weird to think that I haven't been back in the office since.

Let's just say as a hypothetical there was something you REALLY wanted to buy. Maybe you've been planning a trip, or perhaps you've wanted to splurge on a new computer. Let's say one day during your research, those flights/hotels or that computer you REALLY wanted was discounted 15% off.

Would you be put off and stop the search? Or would you jump at the chance to get that discount? I have a hard time imagining someone would pull the plug, when they saw the new Sale price.

Yeah, the markets may be down since the start of the year, but things may be on discount! Why would you pull the plug, rather than taking advantage of the opportunities presenting themselves?

A huge part of my practice is coaching my clients around their attitude and behavior with money. Just like how your heart might jump in excitement at that trip or item being on discount, I coach my clients to view the markets in a similar fashion. Long story short, what we are seeing is part of normal market cycles. If you're not finding reasons to be optimistic or not seeing opportunities, you may be missing a valuable coach in your corner.

The woman at the center of this photo is the reason I'm here! I am very blessed to have such a strong and supportive mother.

My mom poured everything into me and my siblings. My mom had 7 kids, so she was on call 24/7/365. She stayed home to make sure we got what we needed. Not only did she have a big family, but she also homeschooled all of us! At one point, she was homeschooling 5 kids at different levels.

Over the years, my mom has shown me what it means to serve others and to sacrifice. She has shown me what amazing fruits that can bring. My mom is really the center of our family, which is why I love this photo from my older brother's wedding. She's the glue that makes everything run smooth without ever complaining.

Happy (late) Mother's Day mom!

Unapologetic Star Wars nerd here. I participated in the Jedi Training Academy as a kid on a family trip to Disneyland. Needless to say, I was ecstatic when I got picked! When I dug this up, I had to share it in honor of today!

Just got back from a week in Boston. I'm big on road trips, so it was fun driving all over New England. That was a first for me! Out in the PNW, I'm not used to being able to hop in a car and be in several different states within 2-3 hours. It was nothing short of scenic!

I also had a chance to meet with clients in person and do some networking. Over the last 2 years with people being remote, it's made it smoother effectively partnering with people from Coast to Coast. Distance hasn't gotten in the way of coaching people to financial independence!

It's funny because I'm like a lighthouse to to my clients. I serve as a guide to help people navigate the tricky waters of their finances.

Proud son moment! My dad ran the Boston Marathon yesterday and check out that hardware!! This man is a true inspiration. He has drive and determination like no other. It was awesome being able to cheer him on in person from the sidelines and take a few selfies at different points of the marathon.

What an incredible experience. The whole city shuts down and everyone is incredibly supportive and positive, as runners accomplish something amazing. It's humanity at its finest!

The Fed is not messing around as they play catch up on the fight against inflation. The low interest rate environment helped the economy avoid recession during the COVID shutdowns.

Interesting how the Fed isn't talking about recession, as they seem confident in their ability to fight inflation.

The Federal Reserve signaled it's likely to increase a key U.S. interest rate by 1/2-point steps at upcoming meetings if inflation remains high or gets even...

Does the 4% rule still work? Market volatility, a low interest rate environment, inflation, etc. all influence our ability to spend in retirement. Does your Income Plan account for these factors?

You might be asking yourself, what can I possibly do? With all the strategies and tools out there, what applies to my situation? That's where I come in, to help navigate all these complexities and build a plan.

A portfolio created with your long-term objectives in mind is crucial as you pursue your dream retirement.
