I can now write small and medium sized logging operations here in Northern Michigan! If you are a logger or know a logger please spread the word there is another option for coverage. Bet I’m one of the only agents who have raced a log truck!

Please note:
Most insurance policies do not cover “ground water” and water seeping or running in to your home or buildings due to excessive rain/flooding. Resulting damage may not be covered by your homeowners policy. Please be sure to monitor sump pumps and have a shop vacuum and dehumidifier ready. Should you have a problem, mitigate the damage by trenching a pathway for water to escape and not accumulate near your foundation. Take lots of pictures and contact your insurance agent.

Water damage from a leaking roof or specific “sudden” event such as a broken pipe or tree branch through the roof is treated differently than after water hits the ground and becomes “ground water”.

At this time across Northern Michigan, there is still a lot of frozen ground and water cannot be absorbed quickly enough.

Please also remember to never drive through standing water across a roadway and to use extreme caution.
