As a reminder in 2024 the Part D Prescription Drug Coverage was still using the gap (donut hole) and had a true out of pocket cost of $8800 per beneficiary. In 2025 the gap was eliminated and the cost was capped at $2000, with the cap increasing to $2100 in 2026. The stabilization program was part of the process to eliminate the donut hole.

WHERE DO YOU GO? VIRTUAL v.s. URGENT CARE v.s. EMERGENCY ROOM ?

Here are some overviews to help members better understand which option is best:
• Virtual Urgent Care (24/7): Best for non-emergency conditions that don’t require in-person testing, such as colds, flu, fever or rashes
• In-Person Urgent Care: Ideal for immediate but non-life-threatening issues like sprains, minor injuries, back pain or severe ear pain
• Emergency Room (ER): Reserved for life-threatening situations, including chest pain, loss of consciousness, severe injuries or trouble breathing

AVOIDING SCAMS AND REPORTING MEDICARE FRAUD & ABUSE

If you receive a call, email, or texts from someone you don't know and they are offering free medical equipment or services.

What should you do?

Hang up. Delete it. Only you and your doctor should decide what care and services are right for you.

Scammers want your Medicare information so they can bill Medicare for services you don't need — like hospice (end-of-life care), home health care, or durable medical equipment (like a brace or cane).

Hospice scams are particularly harmful. If a scammer signs you up for hospice care without your knowledge, you could lose access to your regular Medicare benefits.

Remember: Never give out your Medicare Number and don't sign anything for free services — it's a scam. If you think you may have experienced fraud, call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) or report it online at Medicare.gov/fraud.
