Good news, power has been restored at The Forge and we are officially back up and running! 🙌

Our lights, A/C, internet, door access, and building systems are all operating normally again, and we’re open as usual.

We apologize for the inconvenience and truly appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while we worked through the outage. We hope everyone in our community stayed safe through the storm, and we’re happy to welcome you back to The Forge! ❤️

We hope everyone in our community is safe after the tropical storm. 🤍

Like many of our neighbors, The Forge is currently without power. Since the outage affects our lights, A/C, internet, security systems, and electronic door access, we’re unable to safely open the building until service is restored.

Entergy is currently estimating restoration by 6:00 PM on September 3, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on updates and sharing any changes as we get them.

We know storms like this can disrupt a lot more than just a workday, and we’re thinking of everyone across Southeast Texas who is dealing with outages, damage, cleanup, and unexpected changes today.

Please stay safe, check on your neighbors, and take care of each other. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to The Forge as soon as we can. ❤️

Our friends at the Lamar University Venture Center are now accepting applications for Cardinal Ideas, their annual entrepreneurship pitch competition.

If you have a business idea you’ve been working on, this is your chance to get it in front of a panel of judges and compete for up to $5,000 in award money.

The competition will be held November 12, and applications are due October 23 at 5 PM.

We love seeing more opportunities like this for local entrepreneurs to get their ideas out there, make connections, and take the next step toward building something here in SETX.

This Wednesday, we’ll host the first Entrepreneur in Residence session, giving local entrepreneurs and aspiring founders the opportunity to connect with experienced business leaders, talk through challenges, refine ideas, and get guidance on what their next step could look like.

What can you expect at Forge What’s Next?👀

For starters: free professional headshots, good food, and a room full of people building things around SETX.

Come early, because for the first 20 minutes of the night, Nicole Foster of Emeriephotography_ will be taking free professional headshots. 📸

Nicole is a Beaumont photographer who shoots families, weddings, portraits and special events, and we’re really excited to have her there.

So if your LinkedIn photo needs an update, you need a new photo for your business, or you just haven’t had a good professional photo taken in a while, we hope you get there early for your free photo!

We’ll also have refreshment food from Cheddar’s, with Lance Taylor and Shaye Doolittle hosting the night.

And really, the whole point of Forge What’s Next is simple: bring together people around Southeast Texas who are starting businesses, growing side hustles, working on ideas, or just trying to meet more people doing the same.

So come hang out, meet some good people, and see what comes from it.
