Still a chance Edouard could become a CAT 1 at landfall. Rain totals are tricky since it’s a very small storm size wise. 3-5 inches look likely with heavier totals near the narrow center just west of a Beaumont/Port Arthur line. Winds 50-65 mph near the center with less winds away from the center.

🚨 FLOOD WATCH ISSUED FOR HARDIN COUNTY AND SOUTHEAST TEXAS 🚨

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Hardin County and surrounding areas from 7:00 AM Monday, June 15, 2026 through Wednesday morning, June 17, 2026.

🌧️ What to Expect
A stalled cold front combined with abundant Gulf moisture will bring multiple rounds of heavy rainfall to Southeast Texas through early Wednesday. Rainfall totals of 2 to 5 inches are expected across the area, with isolated locations potentially receiving 6 to 10 inches.

⚠️ Flooding Concerns
Heavy rainfall occurring over a short period of time may lead to:
• Flash flooding of streets and roadways
• Flooding of low-lying and poor drainage areas
• Rising water levels in creeks, streams, and rivers
• Urban flooding where runoff overwhelms drainage systems

📍 Areas Included
Hardin, Tyler, Jasper, Newton, Jefferson, and Orange Counties are included in the Flood Watch.

🚗 Safety Reminders
• Never drive through flooded roadways. Remember: Turn Around, Don't Drown
• Monitor local weather forecasts and emergency alerts.
• Have multiple ways to receive warnings, especially overnight.
• Be prepared to move to higher ground if flooding develops near your location.
• Secure outdoor items and avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rainfall.
