Family! Is there anything more important than community in family. It is the bedrock of a civil society and when the family becomes dysfunctional---so does society.

Truth is, from the very beginning, families have been generally dysfunctional. Both promise and disappointment are a part of family life.

Both promise and disappointment are issues that insurance can assist in making the promise of life have stability and the disappointments of life find resolution.

Sooner or later---you will wish, though you may never say it, you had purchased insurance to mitigate the disappointments which life inevitably brings.

October 1, 2023—I can talk specifics!

Enrollment from October 25, 2023 to December 7, 2023.

Under 65 healthcare. Also known as Obamacare etc.

November 1, 2023 to January 15, 2024.

Greetings all…

Yes…58 years today. And at last, I got Martie to pay for dinner one of our favorite dining establishments. Many of you will recognize it.

To be truthful, a busy day working on insurance issues, open enrollment that is coming soon, answering excavation/trenching questions from a LinkedIn article, responding to some lawyers in a neighboring state on an interpretation and application issue of the Excavation standard (45 year work history solely by the grace of God), and hobbling around with my cane.

Surely, McDonalds will be an adequate evening dinner. At least in years pass it got the job done.

But no…how can I! I had No anniversary card, no gift, and no reasonable excuse.

We went out!

But, then discovered—-no wallet!!!

Martie paid for dinner and desert! Sweet!

She drove home! Daunting!

Just a reminder: Who knows the mind of the Lord? Who has been His Counselor? Who can claim God owes Him?

Are not His ways pass finding out?

Yes, 58 years! Long years! 65 years total!

All praise to Him for these years!

There are dreams which crashed! Career destroyed! Prayers unanswered…at least from this limited view.

Tough times! Great times! So so times.

Yes, I only now know in part…but someday, I will know even as I am known! And still, some of this path will probably remain hidden. His footprints are in the sea, but he indeed rides upon the storm!

The storm is bringing us to King David’s realization in his later days…his steadfast love is more than life itself.

May it be! May it ever be!

Is it a sunset or a sunrise? Will it be sooner or later! Simple views that are not enough to say for sure. While we can enjoy the former, regardless of whether is was in the morning or at the last rays of the sun, purchasing a protective system to protect you from life's ups and downs, and we know life has those, is better sooner rather than later.

There is only so much that one can do. But---you can do something and the sooner you make those plans the less expensive it will be! Consider the options! I can help? Whether it is aging into Medicare, seeking life insurance, property protection, or specialty coverages for cancer, or heart attack.

The happy couple...!!! Coming together in marriage and/or in commitment is a wondrous blessing of life. To know, someone cares for me. Into this union, child may come and all of us are blessed. There is music, laughter, and yes, some challenges as well, both financial and health, career and relational, personal and spiritual. What then! In each case, a form of insurance allow all of us to mitigate the costs of completing our promise made that first day---I am yours, always and will be there for you, always.

Keep your promises, men!

Two friends were given a new lease on life. Floyd after an extended ordeal of radiation several times, traumatic suffering but now pronounced in remission. Terry had his operation yesterday and the doctor was totally surprised at the absence of cancer he was confident was there. Great news.

Yet, with all their medical coverages, there are still costs to bear. They will manage. But a first diagnosis cancer policy would be a huge help right now. If your family has a history, a cancer policy might be something to consider. If interested…let me know.

Life gives us smiles and sometimes snarls. How we respond to these up and downs reveals our frame of mind, as victim or victor. It is your decision...and no one can make that decision, to respond as a victim and lose control of your life or see yourself as the victor.

Admittedly, it will take help to be the victor. Family, friends, faith will all lend a hand. Preparation for the inevitable will also help:

Insurance can help you face the three common fears: living too long, dying too soon, and running out of money.

Many options. Ask questions, seek answers, do your homework.

FYI

The Salvation Army started up their Winter Youth Programs last night! For the next 6 weeks, youth (ages 8-17) can learn archery, chess, or sign language. Everything starts on Thursdays at 5pm with dinner, devotions, and classes that end at 7pm. For more info and to sign up, call 269-963-3640.

It is that time of the year. Fall with its beautiful colors and it appears that this year will be exceptional. I have added a picture taken last year in Marshall. With fall comes open enrollment...both Medicare for those 65 and over and Affordable Health Care for those under 65.

Of course, many considerations, and time is of the essence. For Medicare it will be by midnight on December 7th, 2022. For ACA it will be January 15, 2023.

What is the Annual Election Period?
The Annual Election Period (AEP) is the period that runs from October 15 – December 7 each year. Medicare beneficiaries can enroll in, change, or disenroll from a Medicare Advantage plan or Part D drug plan.
