Message to East Baton Rouge Parish from :
Baton Rouge ITS TIME!!!!
Nothing matters more to me and more to voters than public safety. My family calls this community home. The past sixteen years have been the deadliest on record for the city of Baton Rouge. Despite the loss and pain so many families have endured, we’ve seen little in the way of new or innovative ideas to address crime or rebuild trust between the community and the justice system.
In my work fighting to get justice for women, men, and even children in Baton Rouge who were strip-searched and violated by law enforcement in the BRAVE Cave, I witnessed firsthand the depth of the problems within our system. When the dignity of our citizens is diminished, trust erodes. And when law enforcement officers break the law and face no real accountability, it undermines the very foundation of justice. It’s clear that our parish needs fresh eyes, new ideas, and a renewed commitment to fairness and safety for everyone.
Over the past year, many people have encouraged me to consider running for District Attorney to continue the work of bringing justice to families and restoring confidence in our system. I am assembling a team and beginning to engage with the community. A formal announcement will come at a later date.
