THE SEVEN THINGS G-D HATES!
"There are (6) things which the LORD hates, Yes, (7) which are an abomination to Him:
Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood 🩸 A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet 👣 that run rapidly to evil, A false witness who utters lies, And one who spreads strife among brothers. "
—Proverbs 6:16-19
People today want a God who is all love and no judgment, all grace and no truth. They want a G-d who blesses and approves of them, regardless of the sinful way they may be living.
G-d is who he is!
He is not the one you want him to be, He is who He is!!
(Exodus 3:14). He is far greater and better than your mind can comprehend.
He is the G-d who is holy,
holy, holy holy holy holy
the G-d who loves righteousness and hates sin.
In Proverbs 6:16-19, the Lord gives us His top(7) sins He hates.
It is important for us to know them so we can avoid them at all costs.
If our King hates them, we should too.
Number one on the hate list is “haughty eyes” or “a proud look.” Pride is the breeding ground for every other sin.
Lucifer’s sin of rebellion was birthed in pride. Whenever we carry out an act of sin, pride always precedes the action. Pride says, “I want to be in charge and carry out my will not G-D’s .
Remember the promise from James 4:6,
G-d is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
In the 2nd spot is “a lying tongue.” G-d hates lying. In fact, He hates it so much that He mentions it again as number 6 on his hate list, “A false witness who utters lies.” Lying is the sin of the devil who is “a liar and the father of lies.”
We are acting just like the devil whenever we tell a lie.
G-d hates hands👐🏼 that shed innocent blood.🩸Whenever I read this, I immediately think of the unspeakable sin of abortion.
🔥🔥The abortion doctors who make their living ripping innocent babies apart in the womb have their hands👐🏼stained with the blood 🩸
of the unborn.
🔥🔥Politicians who support and advocate for this heinous butchery also have blood 🩸 on their hands ... along with the millions who proudly vote them into office.
It is sickening, heartbreaking, and will surely bring G-D’s judgment upon America.
G-d hates it when we devise wicked plans in our heart. The way to walk in victory over sinful actions is to address the sinful thoughts that produce these actions. When we take “every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,” we do not give sin a chance to gain strength and momentum in our lives.
We must deal with sin in its infancy if we want to walk in the light with Jesus.
G-d hates it when we quickly pursue sin as soon as the urge hits. Like an untrained dog let loose from his leash running toward trouble,
we often run to the very sins that will bring devastation to our lives. How many of us look for the first opportunity to pursue that drink, that drug, that sinful website, that immoral relationship, that den of iniquity? We would do well to remember that God hates “feet that run rapidly to evil.”
As mentioned in number 2, God hates it when someone becomes a false witness in court or in life, uttering lies that create serious problems for their victims.
Jezebel had the wicked men of Jezreel lie about Naboth so Ahab could take his vineyard. As a result, innocent Naboth lost his life.
God hates it when one spreads strife and discord among the brethren. We are to be problem solvers, not problem starters and pot stirrers.
Let’s operate in love and peace. It is an ugly thing when strife, dissension, and backbiting rule the day.
As we meditate on G-D’s Word, we gain strength in saying no to the flesh and yes to the Spirit.
Anyone who has a genuine relationship with Jesus wants to do what He loves, not what He hates.
