Some insurance companies consider certain dog breeds when determining eligibility, premiums, or liability coverage because of the potential for dog-bite claims.

And here’s the part many people don’t realize: if your dog bites someone, your homeowners policy may provide liability coverage—but the rules vary by company and policy.
