AT GSIA, WE'RE FAMILY. ❤️

For us, insurance has never been just about policies, premiums and paperwork.

We're family. And our clients become part of that family.

We've had clients who have been with us for decades. We've watched businesses grow, families grow, companies add trucks, open new locations, take on bigger projects and build something they're proud of.

We've celebrated the good times with our clients and stood beside them when things didn't go as planned.

That's what makes being an independent insurance agency so special.

When you call GSIA, you're not just a policy number.

We know your name. We know your business. We know your story.

And we genuinely care about protecting what you've worked so hard to build.

At the end of the day, that's what insurance is supposed to be about — people taking care of people.

From our GSIA family to yours, thank you for trusting us with what matters most. ❤️

Gulf South Insurance Agency — where our clients aren't just clients. They're family.

WHEN YOU CALL GSIA, YOU GET A PERSON. 📞

Ever call your insurance company and spend 10 minutes pressing buttons just trying to get to the right department?

We don't think that's how insurance should work.

At Gulf South Insurance Agency, when you call our office, you get a person.

No endless phone tree.
No guessing which option to press.
No trying to explain your problem to a recording.

You get someone who can listen to what you need and help get you to the right person.

And for our commercial clients — especially truckers and contractors — we know that sometimes you can't wait.

You may need a certificate.
You may need to add a vehicle.
You may have a driver change.
You may have a customer waiting on proof of insurance.

That's why personal service matters.

We're a local agency, and we believe you should be able to talk to your insurance agent when you need them.

📞 Call GSIA. You'll get a person — not a recording.

That's the way insurance should be.

WHY DOES YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY NEED LOSS RUNS AT RENEWAL? 📋

If you've ever been asked for loss runs when your commercial insurance policy is renewing, you may have wondered:

"Why do they need that? The insurance company already has my policy."

Loss runs are an important part of the renewal process because they show the insurance company your claims history.

Insurance companies use this information to evaluate the risk they are being asked to insure and determine whether they want to continue offering coverage and at what price.

Loss runs can help underwriters see:

🔹 How many claims you've had
🔹 What types of claims occurred
🔹 How much has been paid
🔹 How much may still be outstanding
🔹 How frequently claims are occurring
🔹 Whether there are patterns or recurring issues

For trucking companies, contractors and other businesses, your loss history can have a major impact on your available insurance markets and your premium.

And here's an important point:

Your loss runs need to be accurate and up to date.

If an old claim is still showing as open when it has actually been closed, or if a claim is incorrectly attributed to your company, it can affect how an underwriter views your account.

That's why we request loss runs during the renewal process and review them as part of preparing your account for the insurance markets.

At GSIA, we're not just looking for a price at renewal.

We're looking at the entire account and working to present your business in the best possible light to the insurance companies.

📋 Good renewal preparation starts well before the renewal date.

TRUCKING INSURANCE ISN'T JUST ABOUT THE PREMIUM. 🚛

Getting the policy is only the beginning.

For a trucking company, things can change quickly. You may need to:

📋 Add or remove a driver
🚛 Add a truck
📄 Get a certificate of insurance
🔄 Change a vehicle
📦 Add a new customer or contract
📝 Make a coverage change
⚠️ Deal with a claim or urgent issue

And when you need that change made, you need your insurance agency to be there.

A policy may look great on paper and have a competitive premium, but what happens when you can't get someone to return your call, issue a certificate, or make an important change when you need it?

For a trucking company, poor service can cost you more than money. It can cost you a job, delay a load, or put you in a difficult position with a customer.

At GSIA, we understand that your insurance is part of your day-to-day operation. That's why we don't disappear after the policy is sold.

We believe the service you receive after the sale is just as important as the policy you purchased.

🚛 Competitive coverage. Experienced service. An agency that's here when you need us.

That's the GSIA difference.

TRUCKING INSURANCE TIP: IF ONE QUOTE IS WAY LOWER, ASK WHY. 🚛

If you've been shopping for trucking insurance in Louisiana, you've probably noticed something:

There aren't an unlimited number of insurance markets willing to write trucking risks.

That means when you're comparing quotes, there is usually a reason if one quote comes in dramatically lower than the others.

It doesn't automatically mean the quote is wrong — but it DOES mean you should take a closer look.

Before choosing the lowest number, make sure you're comparing:

✔️ The same liability limits
✔️ The same physical damage coverage
✔️ The same deductibles
✔️ The same cargo limits
✔️ The same endorsements
✔️ The same drivers and vehicles
✔️ The same radius and operations
✔️ The same types of commodities being hauled
✔️ The same coverage terms and exclusions

Sometimes a quote looks thousands of dollars cheaper because something important isn't included, the exposure was rated differently, or the coverage isn't actually comparable.

The cheapest quote isn't always the cheapest insurance.

At GSIA, we don't just give you a number. We review the coverage, compare the available markets, and make sure you understand what you're actually buying.

🚛 When comparing trucking insurance, make sure you're comparing apples to apples.

DO YOU KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR DEDUCTIBLES? 🌀🏠

When it comes to insurance, "the deductible" isn't always as simple as it sounds — especially here in Louisiana.

You may have a standard deductible, a named storm deductible, and/or a wind deductible. But what exactly do they mean?

🔹 STANDARD DEDUCTIBLE
This is the amount you are responsible for paying toward a covered loss before your insurance begins paying. For example, if you have a $2,500 deductible and a covered $20,000 loss, you would generally pay the first $2,500 and the policy would respond to the remaining covered amount.

🔹 NAMED STORM DEDUCTIBLE 🌀
This deductible applies to certain losses caused by a storm specifically defined in your policy — typically a named hurricane or tropical storm. These deductibles are often a percentage of the insured value, rather than a flat dollar amount.

🔹 WIND DEDUCTIBLE 💨
A wind deductible applies to covered damage caused by wind or windstorm, depending on how your policy defines the coverage. Like a named storm deductible, it may be a percentage of the property's insured value rather than a flat dollar amount.

Here's the important part:
Two policies can have the same premium and the same coverage limit but have VERY different out-of-pocket costs when a storm hits.

For example, a 2% deductible on a $500,000 insured property could mean $10,000 out of pocket before the policy responds.

That's why it's important to know what your deductible is, when it applies, and how it's calculated — BEFORE a storm hits.

At GSIA, we review your coverage with you at renewal so you know what you're paying for and what you could be responsible for in the event of a claim.

🌀 Don't wait until hurricane season to find out what your deductible is.

YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE TO SHOP YOUR INSURANCE EVERY YEAR. WE DO IT FOR YOU. 🛡️

At Gulf South Insurance Agency, we believe your insurance should be reviewed — not just renewed.

Every year at renewal, we take the time to review your policy, your coverage, and your current needs. We also shop our available markets to make sure we're providing you with the best combination of coverage, service and pricing available for your business.

That means you don't have to spend your time calling around to different insurance companies trying to figure out if you're getting the right coverage at the right price.

We do the shopping. You run your business.

That's what having an independent insurance agency working for you is all about. ❤️

📞 Give us a call when your policy is coming up for renewal and let us do the work for you!

TRUCKING INSURANCE: CHEAPER ISN'T ALWAYS BETTER 🚛

We all want to save money on insurance.

But when you're insuring a trucking operation, the lowest premium isn't necessarily the best deal.

A policy with a lower premium may have:

• Different coverage
• Higher deductibles
• Different exclusions
• Lower limits
• Different endorsements
• Restrictions that don't fit your operation

When comparing trucking insurance, make sure you're comparing coverage to coverage, not just premium to premium.

Saving $2,000 on your insurance doesn't feel like a savings if the coverage you needed wasn't there when you had a claim.

A QUICK INSURANCE REMINDER FOR BUSINESS OWNERS 📋

Your insurance policy was written based on the information you provided when the policy was issued.

But businesses change.

You may have:

✔️ Bought new equipment
✔️ Added employees
✔️ Purchased vehicles
✔️ Started taking on larger jobs
✔️ Changed your operations
✔️ Added a new location
✔️ Started working in another state

If your business has changed, your insurance may need to change too.

An annual insurance review isn't just about finding a better price. It's about making sure your coverage still fits your business.
