🏠 Louisiana Fortify Homes Program Now Available in Acadiana & Iberville Parish

Good news for Louisiana homeowners. The Louisiana Fortify Homes Program (LHFP) has expanded beyond coastal parishes and now includes eligible homeowners in Acadiana and Iberville Parish.

Qualified homeowners may receive up to $10,000 toward upgrading their roof to the IBHS FORTIFIED Roof standard, helping better protect their homes from hurricanes, severe storms, and high winds.

Benefits may include:
✔ Stronger protection against Louisiana weather
✔ Potential insurance savings
✔ Increased resilience for your home and family

⚠️ Important: Grant approval must be received BEFORE any work begins. Projects started before approval are not eligible for reimbursement.

Big news for Louisiana drivers.

The traditional inspection sticker is being replaced. Governor Landry signed legislation this session that swaps it out for a QR code registration sticker for most privately owned passenger vehicles, effective January 1, 2027. The new sticker is expected to run about $6 versus the current $10.

Commercial vehicles and student transport still require inspections.

If you live in one of the five Baton Rouge area parishes (Ascension, East Baton Rouge, Iberville, Livingston, or West Baton Rouge), emissions testing may still apply due to federal Clean Air Act requirements. Details are still being worked out so stay tuned.
