Lots of places adding roundabouts now. To avoid accidents here are a couple pointers for everyone!
• Reduce speed as you approach and watch for pedestrians or cyclists.
• Traffic within the roundabout has the right-of-way. Yield to all vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrians already in the circle.
• Enter the roundabout when there is a large enough gap in traffic, moving in a counterclockwise direction.
• Use your right turn signal to indicate your intention to exit the roundabout.
• DO NOT STOP or pass other vehicles while inside the roundabout.
• If you miss your exit, continue around the circle until you reach it again.
Lane Selection and Exiting:
• Single-Lane Roundabout:
Turn right to go right or stay in the lane to go straight or left.
• Multi-Lane Roundabout:
Right Turn: Use the right lane.
Straight: Use either lane, unless signs indicate otherwise, and stay in lane.
Left Turn: Use the left lane.
• Signal right upon approaching your exit.
• Yield to any pedestrians in the crosswalk when exiting the roundabout.
