🚘 INSURANCE MYTH

“I have full coverage.”

It’s one of the most common phrases we hear about Auto insurance.

But here’s the problem:

“Full coverage” doesn’t have one universal meaning.

It may be shorthand for having liability, comprehensive and collision coverage, but that still doesn’t tell you everything about the policy.

What about:

🛡️ Your liability limits?
💥 Your deductibles?
🚙 Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage?
🏥 Medical Payments or PIP, where applicable?
🔑 Rental or other optional coverages?

Two drivers can both say they have “full coverage” and have very different policies.

🔎 A better question:

“What coverage do I actually have?”

Knowing what’s on your policy is more useful than relying on a label.

What is Medical Payments coverage on an auto policy?

When people think about auto insurance, they often focus on damage to the vehicles.

But what about injuries?

Medical Payments coverage, often called MedPay, may help pay certain medical expenses for you and your passengers after a covered auto accident, subject to the policy's terms and limits.

It is different from liability coverage.

Liability coverage generally addresses injuries or property damage you are legally responsible for causing to others. MedPay is designed to address certain medical expenses for covered people under your own policy, regardless of who caused the accident, subject to policy terms.
