Thank you Sauk County Sheriff’s Office for sharing this important reminder during this busy planting season!

As you head out on the roads this weekend, remember to watch for tractors and other slow moving vehicles. Farmers are in the fields working hard to provide for our community.

Traffic rules still apply when approaching or passing farm equipment - whether it’s red, blue, or green. Use caution, be patient, and only pass when it is safe to do so.

DO NOT DO ANY OF THE FOLLOWING!
- Pass in a no passing area.
- Pass on the shoulder.
- Pass with on coming traffic.

We respect our farmers and want everyone to get home safely.

We’re excited to be a recipient of a Farm Neighbors Care grant to help further the reach of our outreach efforts!

Congratulations to our 2026 Farm Neighbors Care Grant Recipients!

Across our counties, incredible groups are stepping up to remind farmers and families that they are seen, valued and supported.

This year’s funded projects include:

☕ Delivering coffee, donuts and bag lunches during planting season
🏃 Hosting a “Thank a Farmer Run” to personally visit and thank local farms
🎁 Hand-delivering care packages to brighten long winter days
🍕 Bringing farmers together for pizza, camaraderie and conversations
🎓 Sending care packages to collegiate ag students to bridge the gap between campus and home
🎉 Hosting Farm City events to connect rural and non-farm communities
🧠 Providing mental health resources and even wrapping a sheriff’s vehicle to raise awareness

Thank you to these counties, FFA members, 4-H youth, Farm Bureau boards and volunteers who are turning compassion into action.

Sauk County Farm Bureau board members Angela and Sarah attended the Ignite conference in Madison where they participated in local Farm Bureau event training and planning.

Sauk County Farm Bureau members were proud to take to the Capitol recently for Ag Day at the Capitol, joining Farm Bureau members from across the state to advocate for Wisconsin agriculture. 🌾🐄

Our members had the opportunity to meet directly with Representatives Tony Kurtz and Karen DeSanto, as well as staff from Senator Sarah Keyeski’s office. We discussed a wide range of issues important to our farms and rural communities, including Farm Bureau health plans, lab-grown meat labeling, and access to E15 fuel.

These conversations matter. Farm Bureau provides farmers with a strong, united voice and a seat at the table when policies are being shaped. Advocacy like this ensures that decisions impacting agriculture are informed by real farmers, real experiences, and real needs.

This is Farm Bureau at work, standing up for agriculture, today and for the future. 💪🌱
