Home prices rose in 78% of the nation’s metro markets last quarter, according to today’s NAR report. The average home price rose to around $432,900, up 1.7% year-over- year. Prices appreciated the most in the Northeast (4%) and Midwest (3.6%) regions, while the West saw a 0.6% drop. There's still ample opportunity for buyers though, with home prices declining in 21% of markets in Q3.
