🚛 It's National Trailer Safety Week and whether you are hauling equipment, a camper, or a boat trailer, here are a few important tips to keep in mind every time you hit the road!
• Know your weight limits. Make sure your vehicle is rated to tow the load you are pulling and never exceed the manufacturer's towing capacity.
• Check your connections. Before every trip inspect your hitch, safety chains, and wiring to make sure everything is secure and your lights are working properly.
• Check your mirrors. Adjust both side mirrors before you leave so you have a clear view of the trailer on both sides. You cannot rely on your rearview mirror when towing.
• Give yourself extra stopping distance. A loaded trailer significantly increases your stopping distance so leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle ahead.
• Practice backing up. If you are not experienced backing a trailer, take some time to practice in an empty parking lot before you need to do it somewhere stressful.

Before you hit the water make sure everyone on board is wearing a properly fitted life jacket, you are familiar with local waterway rules, and you are keeping a safe distance from other boats, swimmers, and docks.

⚡ May is National Electrical Safety Month and with a heat wave rolling in tomorrow it is the perfect time to make sure everything in your home is running safely! Make sure your window AC units are plugged directly into wall outlets and never into extension cords, and give your fans a quick check to make sure they are clean and running smoothly before cranking them up all day. Avoid overloading outlets with multiple high powered devices and if any cords look worn or frayed now is the time to replace them. Stay cool out there and remember it's only going to last a few days! 😅 🌡️💛

🏍️ May is Motorcycle Safety Month and we want to make sure everyone out there is riding smart and staying safe! Here are a few tips to keep in mind every time you hit the road:

✔ Always wear a helmet. It is the single most important piece of gear you can put on and it could save your life.
✔ Stay visible. Wear bright or reflective gear and never linger in other drivers blind spots. If you cannot see their mirrors they cannot see you.
✔ Adjust for the weather. Wet roads and motorcycles are a dangerous combination. Give yourself extra stopping distance and slow down when conditions change.
✔ Stay focused. Distraction is dangerous on any vehicle but especially on a motorcycle. Keep your eyes on the road and your head in the ride.
✔ Check your bike before every ride. Tires, brakes, lights, and fluid levels should all be checked regularly. A few minutes of prep can prevent a serious problem down the road.
✔ Watch for other drivers. Assume they do not see you and ride accordingly. Defensive riding saves lives.
