🏡 NEW: MaineHousing Can Now Finance Mobile Homes in Parks!

For years, many buyers looking at mobile homes in parks were limited to higher-rate chattel loans. That's changing.

MaineHousing's Mobile Home Self-Insured Program now allows eligible buyers to finance certain mobile homes located in approved parks and leased-lot communities using a traditional mortgage.

✅ Mobile homes in approved parks may qualify
✅ Fixed-rate financing available
✅ Down payment and closing cost assistance may be available
✅ Purchase prices up to $200,000 statewide
✅ Available through MaineHousing Advantage and Standard programs

A few important things to know:
🔹 Homes must generally be 20 years old or newer
🔹 Wheels, axles, and hitch must be removed before closing
🔹 Utilities must be connected and the home properly anchored and skirted
🔹 Loan term may vary based on the age of the home

This is creating new opportunities for buyers who may have previously thought homeownership was out of reach.
