Family, Friends, and Clients:
After 12 years in the LTC Insurance business I have serviced many claims. This year I am raising money to honor those clients who have had Alzheimers slammed into their lives. PLEASE help raise funds to fight this terrible disease. Thank you!

PBS has a national storytelling project that airs on Sunday August 2 @ 10:30pm ET. This is one of those stories, it is told by a 22 year old recent college graduate trying to decide if she should put her young life on hold to help care for a grandparent living with slow-advancing dementia. If we are lucky, we get to age; a little planning will make that process less of a burden on those we love.

My sweet Australian Shepherd, Belle, has taught me much over the years. Now as she approaches 15 she is teaching me lessons about aging:
1. Stay Positive - it is no embarrassment if you can no longer catch the Frisbee in mid-air; it will land, use you nose to find it, if your eyes no longer see.
2. Keep Moving - keep your legs pumping and your brain may never get the message that they are too weak to hold you up anymore.
3. Aging Happens - to EVERYONE - the most athletic will feel it the most; be grateful for what remains, and always look forward to the next treat.

My husband and I saw this last night, quite by accident. We looked for it last week, and never found it, so we kind of forgot about it; what a fabulous surprise to look up at 10pm while walking the dog! It is worth the effort, bring binoculars.

After making its closest approach to the Earth, Comet NEOWISE is starting to fade away, so be sure to look for it one last time -- it won't be back for another 6,800 years.
