In 1990, the U.S. government committed roughly $3 billion and thirteen years to a single audacious goal.

For the first time in history, we were going to sequence the entire human genome.

It was slow, absurdly expensive, and void of any practical use that anyone could honestly point to.

Today, a lab can sequence an entire human genome in about a day… and for under $200.

However, it was that first, expensive, unglamorous, government-funded map that became the foundation for everything after it — an entire generation of biotech, genetic medicine, and diagnostic tools that simply couldn’t have existed without it.

And recently, Washington just placed a very similar bet again. In 1990, the U.S. government committed roughly $3 billion and thirteen years to a single audacious goal.

If you thought the gold trade was over…

Think again.

Earlier this year, gold stormed to record highs.

Silver followed with one of its strongest rallies in history.

Headlines screamed that the move had gone too far, too fast. They weren’t wrong.

Analysts declared the trade overcrowded. Momentum investors rushed to take profits.

Then something healthy happened.

The market did what every great bull market does.

It took a breath.

Prices consolidated. Weak hands sold. Skeptics reappeared. Financial television moved on to the next shiny object.

And now?

The precious metals market is waking up again...

Global conflict is putting renewed attention on naval power. As the U.S. invests billions into submarines and fleet modernization, shipbuilders like Huntington Ingalls are positioned at the center of that long term defense spending.

Three miles beneath central Oregon, a beam of energy is vaporizing solid rock right now.

We’re not talking about your typical drilling operations that your standard oil and gas rig crews have been doing for centuries.

This time, they’re vaporizing it using millimeter waves powerful enough to hit granite at temperatures hot enough to melt steel. This beam goes straight into the hardrock so hot that conventional drill bits simply can’t survive down there.

We’ve moved far beyond the pitch deck of a science fiction screening, folks.

And it’s happening right now, funded and under construction in the Deschutes National Forest.

While mainstream headlines are focused on geopolitical chaos surrounding oil markets today, geothermal energy has quietly become one of the most interesting stories in American energy that you’ve never heard of.

Almost everyone outside the industry hasn’t noticed it… yet.

But that’s about to change...

Rising defense budgets and growing geopolitical uncertainty are creating powerful tailwinds for the defense industry. As global tensions persist, the need for advanced military technology and stronger defense capabilities continues to grow.

There are numbers so large they stop feeling real.

Today’s number is $40 trillion.

That’s the amount of debt the United States is on the verge of accumulating — months earlier than government forecasters expected. It is a staggering milestone, but it’s also the wrong thing to focus on.

The real story isn’t that America is crossing another debt threshold.

The real story is what governments always do once debt reaches levels that can never realistically be repaid.

History has seen this movie before.

Governments rarely choose painful spending cuts. They almost never default outright. And sustained economic miracles capable of outgrowing mountains of debt are extraordinarily rare.

Instead, they choose the path of least political resistance.

They create more money.

Not necessarily by running the printing presses in the old-fashioned sense, but through ever-expanding deficits, larger Treasury issuance, accommodative monetary policy, and financial systems designed to absorb an endless supply of government debt.

That process gradually erodes the purchasing power of the currency itself.

It’s happened throughout history.

And there’s little reason to believe this time will be fundamentally different.

The real story isn't that America is crossing another debt threshold. The real story is what governments always do once debt reaches levels that can never realistically be repaid...

With the Apollo program barely off the ground in the fall of 1962, NASA ran into a real cash crisis.

It turns out that President Kennedy had rejected the agency’s request for additional funding.

At the time, Congress hadn’t finished its own appropriation, so NASA got forced onto month-to-month funding, praying that enough money would show up before the bills came due.

Contractors sent anguished telegrams demanding payment, and NASA’s own historians would later call the situation “critical.”

The good news for us is that it worked out, and Apollo’s funding exploded in the years that followed… you and I know how that story ends.

The thing is, nobody knew they were in a crisis while it was happening.

An eerily similar story is playing out once again, only this time a 4-star general running the Golden Dome program told Congress something that should sound familiar.

Without a funding fix, his Golden Dome program could grind to a halt as soon as October.

Of course, this comes right after its hardware just proved, for the first time, that it actually works.

What could possibly go wrong… or right?
