This past Thursday, we hosted our June dairy month board meeting at Friendshuh Farms in Clear Lake!🐮

Thank you to all of the members that attended the meeting and farm tour, and thank you to all of our guests for joining us.

This included several Polk County Board members and Congressional candidates. It was a great opportunity to share some dairy treats and to get to know our representatives.

A huge thank you to the Friendshuh family for hosting and providing the wonderful tour!

Please help us congratulate Isaac Billings, our 2026 Essay Contest winner!

Isaac, a 5th grader, earned top honors as part of the Wisconsin Ag in the Classroom Essay Contest — and what an accomplishment it is. This year's contest drew an incredible 1,024 essays from 4th and 5th grade students across 79 schools in 33 counties statewide, including 376 entries from fellow 5th graders.

To stand out among so many talented young writers is something truly special. We could not be more proud to celebrate one of our own, and Isaac's work reflects exactly the kind of curiosity and appreciation for agriculture that gives us so much hope for what's ahead. Though we can't say we're surprised — there's an abundance of talent right here in Polk and Burnett Counties!

Congratulations, Isaac!

There is something special about seeing the people behind your food.

Some of our members and their families were featured as part of this great deep dive on Ellsworth Creamery, their signature cheese curds, and the farming families behind them.

The future is bright for dairy and agriculture here in Polk and Burnett Counties, and it is because of families like these. Give it a watch and show them some love!

Come on an adventure with us to learn all about cheese curds! We’re traveling to Ellsworth, Wisconsin, the cheese curd capital of the world! We'll meet the f...

What a great tour and delicious syrup samples our young farmers and agriculturists had today! 😋

Huge thank you to Glenna Farms for hosting us, and for the very informative tour given by the owner, Rick Glenna. Here are some of the things we learned about one of Wisconsin’s top ag products:

🥉Wisconsin is number three when it comes to syrup production! Behind Vermont and New York.
🍁Syrup made in the beginning of the production season will be lighter in color and sweeter. As the season progresses, it gets darker and richer in maple flavor.
🛢️Syrup can be stored in large barrels after it’s made. As long as it stays sealed, it will be safe to eat forever! Once it’s opened, it must be refrigerated.
