What a great tour and delicious syrup samples our young farmers and agriculturists had today! 😋

Huge thank you to Glenna Farms for hosting us, and for the very informative tour given by the owner, Rick Glenna. Here are some of the things we learned about one of Wisconsin’s top ag products:

🥉Wisconsin is number three when it comes to syrup production! Behind Vermont and New York.
🍁Syrup made in the beginning of the production season will be lighter in color and sweeter. As the season progresses, it gets darker and richer in maple flavor.
🛢️Syrup can be stored in large barrels after it’s made. As long as it stays sealed, it will be safe to eat forever! Once it’s opened, it must be refrigerated.
