That moment you realize that you haven't actually practiced the technique you've committed to teach in 2 weeks in several years... Make a sample and PRACTICE so you can share your knowledge from a position of active experience. 😄🧵🪡 Amazingly the class filled up already! It will come around again in the new year.

Twilling is the modern name for the Palestrina Stitch that has its origins in Italy as far back as the Roman Empire! It's a lovely knotted surface embroidery stitch that is very striking.

You'll find me at the Quilt Capital of Kansas information table at the Maple Leaf Festival Quilt Show tomorrow, Sunday, Oct 18, from about 10am until close at 5pm. I'll be here practicing!

Today was a very fun and successful Mini-Hexified Panel Quilt one-day workshop. Of those in attendance, three tops were completed, one is close, and the last is ready for layout at an Open Sew day. I didn't get pix of all the projects, but those I did turned out great! There will be another class soon.

The Quilting Basics class held at the Lumberyard Arts Center through the Quilt Capital of Kansas is about to wrap up with their final class this weekend. The progress these quilts made over the last few months is amazing! Each class they've learned a new block and technique and now have enough blocks to create a sampler quilt. The variety of fabrics chosen is amazing, making each quilt completely unique despite making the same blocks together. Here's a preview of the blocks they made along the way. Once the tops are together, more pix will be shared. Congratulations to this group of accomplished new quilters!

Quilting and other textile arts classes held through the Quilt Capital of Kansas are co-sponsored by Quilters' Paradise and the Lumberyard Arts Center. The Quilting Basics series is taught by Elizabeth Granberg-Jerome Custom Quilter. The beginning series of six classes will come around again in early 2027.
