“People don’t learn the same way — which means great educators don’t teach only one way.”

The 2026 JAR Conference delivered.

Benny and I, alongside other key leaders from different regions, had the privilege of presenting. Our workshop: Sales Presentation Essentials.

The core message of our 45-minute session was simple:

* Move from transactional to transformational
* From order-taker to strategist
* From selling to serving

We also spent time discussing what predatory enrollment behaviors can look like in our industry — and why education, transparency, and ethics matter more than ever.

As always, it was great reconnecting with friends, partners, and leaders across the industry.

Our keynote speaker- Hill Harper - thought provoking message. 👏🏻

Our team was also honored with multiple individual awards, reflecting the incredible 2026 Enrollment Period we had and the work accomplished throughout 2025 as a whole.

Big shoutout to Jaime, Omar, the founders/president, and the entire staff for putting together such a strong two-day event. Thank you for the opportunity & hospitality.

And a special shoutout to Jes one of our team associate- for making the drive & taking our digital whiteboard. Those who know us know we speak with visual aid.

Even if it’s one reminder, one nugget, one piece of information that can better equip us to help our communities and/or articulate this complex space more effectively- these conferences are always worth it.

Two weeks of back to back conferences. A lot of conversations, reminders, and a few important wake-up calls.

In simple terms, one message keeps coming through louder this year than last:
The industry—led by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)—is leaning toward educators and true career agents.

The shift is clear:
Move from transactional to transformational.
From order-taker to strategist.
From selling to serving.

Adopt a servant mindset—or risk getting left behind.

Honestly, it’s about time.

For us, it’s also validation. This has been our model since day one.

From the Medicare conference…
to supporting our Alcar friends at National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC)…
to reconnecting with industry leaders—

One thing remains true:
You stay valuable to your community by staying ahead of the shifts.

Two down. One more to go.
JAR Conference.

2023 → 2026… full circle moment.

In 2023, we had the opportunity to attend Rhythm of the Night hosted by the Bakersfield Memorial Hospital Foundation in support of the Sarvanand Heart & Brain Center.

Great evening — good food, a little dancing, and some friendly competition during the fundraiser. That night alone raised over $440,000.

We were proud to contribute in a small way — our donation went toward sterilization pods, which now help increase the number of surgeries performed daily. Before that, procedures were limited due to sterilization turnaround time.

Fast forward a few months… we toured the hospital and got to see those pods in action. That right there — that’s what it’s all about.

And then… the perk tied to that night finally came full circle.

3 years later — we made it happen.
A private evening on the helipad, dinner, and finally completing that dance number 😄

Not for lack of effort from the Dignity Health team — between scheduling conflicts and weather, it took a minute! Huge thank you to Ken, Susan, and Lana for sticking with us and making it happen.

And to Joe Peters — great music, great vibe, down to earth. That was the original deal… and they delivered.

Always a great time attending Bakersfield Memorial Hospital Foundation events —
an opportunity to give back, connect, and every now and then… enjoy a pretty special experience.

FullCircleMoments Grateful

Medicare is full of exceptions or rules- which applies to ‘the creditable not creditable conversation’. Do I delay or don’t delay.

Here are a couple key rules to know:

• If your employer has fewer than 20 employees
Medicare becomes your primary coverage—even if your employer plan is considered creditable. This is where a conversation is critical to evaluate your options and choose the right strategy for you and your family. (In a nutshell you have to activate your Medicare)

• If you qualify for Medicare due to a disability and are covered under a spouse’s employer plan:
Even if it’s creditable, If employer has fewer than 100 employees, Medicare will also be primary.

There’s always some level of confusion—no matter your background.
Our job is to help & make sense of it.

Very few questions or scenarios stump us- but when they do, we’ll figure it out.

Let it be you are Medi/Medi or thinking about retiring now or in the future we will get your questions answered & even the question you don’t know to ask.

Turning 65? Let’s talk timing—and strategy.

The industry standard says you should start looking at Medicare 3 months before your birth month. That’s when an agent can officially write an application.

Yes—you can make a decision in that window.

But here’s the truth…
3 months is often not enough time to make a fully informed decision.

In my experience, most people are guided toward a single option—often an HMO.
Not because it’s always the best fit, but because it’s what’s most commonly presented & compensation.

Be cautious if you’re only hearing one side.

You deserve to understand all your options:

* HMO
* PPO
* Medigap (Supplement plans)
* Prescription coverage
* Medi/Medi what’s true what’s not.

And they should be explained without bias.

You might hear things like:

* “You don’t want an HMO—it’s restrictive.”
→ But what if your doctors are already in-network?
* “Medigap is expensive—it goes up every year.”
→ True, but what value does it provide in return?
* “If you are Medi/Medi you have to go with this plan otherwise you can’t qualify for Medi-cal! 😳🤦‍♂️

Our job is simple:
Present the facts.
Explain every path clearly.
Communicate in a way that makes sense to you.

You decide.

Why we recommend planning earlier

We encourage people to start thinking about Medicare 1–3 years ahead of time—because there are bigger financial factors involved.

For example:

* Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount (IRMAA)
If your income is higher, you’ll pay more for Medicare premiums.
These brackets are based on your income from 2 years prior.
For 2026, the first tier starts around:
* $109,000 (single)
* $218,000 (married)
* Selling a property?
Capital gains could push you into a higher bracket.
* Retirement income strategies matter.
Timing matters.
Planning matters.

These are conversations that go far beyond a last-minute decision.

A quick reality check

If you speak with someone and they say:
“Just call me 3 months before you turn 65 or I’ll call you”

That usually means they’re focused on the transaction—not the strategy.

And here’s another common one:
“Just sign up for Part A—it’s free anyway.”

Before you do that—have a conversation first.
There are situations where that advice can impact you more than you think.

Bottom line:
3 months may be the industry standard…
But it shouldn’t be your planning standard.

Start early.
Ask better questions.
Understand your options.

That’s how you make a confident Medicare decision.

Join us today! We have a booth at South High School for the Salud Del Valle Health Fest.

Stop by and say hello to Miriam and Mario — and don’t forget to enter our raffles!

As always, Medicare education comes first. We take a deep dive into:
• Original Medicare
• Medigap (Supplement) plans
• PPO & HMO Medicare Advantage plans
• Prescription Drug Plans

No question is a mystery for us. And if Miriam or Mario don’t have the answer right away, they have Benny and me backing them up.

If you’re Medi-Medi (Medicare & Medi-Cal), remember: you have more than just one or two plan options. Understanding all of your options makes all the difference.

For FQHCs and private practices, our Medicare 101 workshops have been helping patients and staff better understand the system.

Come by and say hello — we’re here to help.

There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to Medicare. From HMOs to PPOs to Medigaps, different health plan delivery systems exist for a reason.

This also applies to those with Medicare and Medi-Cal (Medi/Medi).

If someone tells you that you must enroll in a specific plan or you will lose your Medi-Cal benefits, that is simply not true. Unfortunately, these kinds of scare tactics are sometimes used to pressure people into enrolling in plans.

You’ve worked hard for your Medicare benefits—they are an entitlement you earned.
Understanding your options matters.

If you want clear, unbiased guidance, reach out. We’ll walk you through your options so you can make the decision that’s right for you.
