It’s Playoff time!!! The Firebirds handled business last week taking care of SE Alamance in the second round of the 5A Playoffs! Now, the fellas head back down to Lamm Road for the big rematch with the Hunt Warriors! Before we get to that, let’s make sure we award the Bailey Farm Bureau Player of the Week to Senior OL Wesley Immediato! Wesley is a tremendous young man and a consistent leader for the program on and off the field! Wesley gives it all up every play, and plays with the heart of a champion! Congrats Wesley, and good luck this Friday night!

The playoffs are here! Your Southern Nash Firebirds had a bye week this past week, and with the 8th seed in the 5A playoffs, they have a bye week this week, too. Plenty of time to rest up and prepare for “win or go home” season! With all that being considered, we still need to award the Farm Bureau Player of the Week for the final game of the regular season. That would be none other than Special Teams specialist Ayden Meyers! The Junior Kicker/Punter has put forth an excellent performance all year long and exemplifies what a SN football player is with his leadership on and off the field! Congratulations Ayden!!!

Keep an eye on the SE Alamance and Orange game this weekend. Winner get the honor of coming down to Bailey next week!

If you see Caden Day around town, make sure you congratulate him, as he was named the Bailey Farm Bureau Player of the Week for Week 8 of the season! Caden is a Senior Lineman who is a consistent leader on and off the field, willing to do whatever it takes to help his coaches and teammates obtain victory on Friday nights. The Firebirds came up short last week in a juggernaut of a game at Hunt, but they look to rebound at rival Rocky Mount this week! Make sure you make your way to Rocky Mount to push them through!

As we approach Week 8 of the season, a big congratulations is in store for Junior OLB Ashton Holland, who is this weeks winner of the Bailey Farm Bureau Player of the Week after the high scoring shoot out last Friday night which saw the Firebirds victorious. Ashton has a relentless effort in every facet of his life, from the classroom, to the weight room, and onto the field. Ashton signifies what it means to be a Southern Nash Firebird as this relentless effort is synonymous with wearing the SN on your helmet! The Firebirds season turns up a notch starting Friday night as their last 3 opponents are all currently 5-1. Make your way to Lamm Rd as the Firebirds take on the Hunt Warriors at 7pm!

Zion’s improved focus and practice habits have led to higher field production, making Zion an impact player under the lights! Congratulations Zion!

Let’s congratulate Junior OL Brennen Mapp on being awarded this weeks Bailey Farm Bureau Player of the Week! The consistent hard work of Brennen in the classroom, the weight room, and on the practice field garnered such an acknowledgement! That same consistency will be on display this week as the Firebirds travel to Pikeville to take on CB Aycock in their second conference bout of the year! Make sure you head out to cheer the boys on!!

The Senior Defensive Back had a career best game on Defense and Special Teams, helping his teammates pick up another win against county rival Nash Central! This week the Firebirds open conference play with Southern Wayne! Make sure you come out and cheer the fellas on to victory this Friday night!
