Another Azur Group project on the way! .

Azur Group, An Aventura-based developer broke ground on a rental townhouse project in Pompano Beach after obtaining an $11.5 million construction loan.

Miami-based City National Bank of Florida provided the mortgage to ICG ABCD 52 LLC, managed by Gabriel Amiel as CEO of Aventura-based Invest Capital Group, in partnership with Azur Group in Aventura. It covers the project on 3.65 acres at 300, 500, 600, 620 and 650 N.W. 31st Ave. The site is just north of Atlantic Boulevard and east of Florida’s Turnpike.

Davie-based Sloan Consulting filed notice with the county that it started building 52 rental townhouses there. The project is called the Sport Residences.

Azur Group acquired the four vacant lots from the Pompano Beach Community Redevelopment Agency for nominal consideration of $100 in February. The CRA wants to encourage development in this neighborhood, which has lower household income levels than much of the city. Plans for a “sports park” are also under consideration for a vacant, city-owned property across the street, with Azur Group working on it with the city.
