Nobody warns you how fast the time goes.

One minute you're doing school drop-offs, checking homework, driving them everywhere and wondering if they'll ever learn to do their own laundry.

Then suddenly, one is off at college, the house is a whole lot quieter, and you're wondering where all that time went.

Mattie and I are both going through it right now, and somehow our conversation went from kids leaving for college, to laundry, to becoming empty nesters, to apparently working 24 hours a day because we won't have anything else to do. 😂

The funny part is, for years you dream about the day they'll become independent.

Then they actually do.

And you're not quite as ready for it as you thought you'd be.

For all the parents going through the same thing right now, enjoy the noise while you have it. ❤️

Because apparently someday you'll miss the laundry, the questions, the running around and maybe even hearing "Dad" or "Mom" 47 times a day.

Although Mattie has already decided she's just going to follow her kids wherever they go, so she may have found the loophole. 😂

🐶 **Meet Archie.**

His qualifications are impressive.

✅ Sits
✅ Shakes
✅ Gives high fives
✅ Offers free handshakes
✅ Provides unlimited love

There is just one small problem...

**He absolutely refuses to lay down when asked. 😂**

So we're still working on his training, but his customer service skills are already pretty hard to beat.

If you stop by the office, there's a pretty good chance you'll see Archie. And if you're having a rough day, he'll happily provide a handshake, a hug, or apparently as many pets as you're willing to give him.

Mortgages? We'll handle those.

A whole lot of school supplies… and hopefully a FULL BUS!

RC & ME is hosting Fill the Bus TODAY from 12–6 PM at our office:

📍 1361 S. Raccoon Rd., Austintown

We’re collecting school supplies to help Austintown students start the school year with everything they need.

And because we don’t know how to have people over without feeding them…

🔥 Smoked chicken
🔥 Mac & cheese

Bring some school supplies, bring the family, grab some food and hang out with us.

The bus is already parked out front. Now we need YOU to help us fill it! 🚌

🚌🎒 Austintown — we need your help to FILL THE BUS! 🎒🚌

This Friday, August 14, we're collecting school supplies for Austintown students, and we've set a pretty big goal for ourselves...

$3,000+ in school supplies.

And apparently Mattie would like to make that $5,000. 😂

So let's see what we can do.

Bring backpacks, notebooks, pencils, pens and other school supplies and help us send local kids back to school ready to go.

And because apparently collecting school supplies wasn't enough, we're feeding you too. 😂 Smoked chicken, pulled pork and sides will be waiting when you stop by.

This is our third year doing Fill the Bus, and the support from our community has been incredible. This year, we want to make it our biggest one yet.

Can't make it Friday? You can still donate. Every dollar donated for Fill the Bus goes toward helping Austintown students with the supplies they need.

🚨 That Credit Karma score might NOT be the credit score your mortgage lender sees.

We had someone call us convinced they knew their credit score because they had been watching it on Credit Karma.

Then we pulled their mortgage credit.

Different number.

And that's something a lot of homebuyers don't realize.

The score you see on a consumer credit app isn't necessarily the same scoring model used when you're applying for a mortgage.

That difference matters when you're trying to figure out:

🏡 What you qualify for
💰 What your loan options look like
📉 What your interest rate may be
🔑 Whether you're ready to start house hunting

So before you talk yourself into OR out of buying a house based on the score you see on an app...

Talk to a mortgage professional and find out where you actually stand.

For the third year in a row, we’re asking our community to help Austintown students start the school year with the supplies they need.

Join American Pacific Mortgage and the RC & ME Team for our 3rd Annual Fill the Bus school supply drive!

Simply stop by and drop off new school supplies. We’ll have free hot dogs, chips and drinks for everyone who visits.

Can’t make it that day? You can still help by donating through Venmo at -C17. Every dollar donated will be used to purchase school supplies for Austintown students.

You don't have to know everything to buy a home.

Seriously.

One of the biggest misconceptions we see is that people think they need to have all the answers before they ever reach out to a lender.

They worry about asking "dumb" questions.

They think everyone else understands the mortgage process better than they do.

They tell themselves they'll call once they've done more research.

Here's the truth...

That's our job.

Our job isn't to expect you to understand mortgages. Our job is to explain everything in a way that makes sense, answer every question you have, and make sure you feel confident every step of the way.

Whether you're buying your first home or your fifth, there are no dumb questions—just opportunities to learn.
