Meet Nigel Johnson, a multi-talented student at Eastside Early College High School in Austin, Texas, who helped make school history. By winning the TexSEF Madden State Championship, Nigel brought Eastside its first state championship of any kind.

But Nigel’s impact didn’t stop in the esports arena. As a member of the football team, he was also part of the group that helped the program earn its first win in more than five years.

This short documentary follows Nigel’s unique journey across both digital and traditional competition, showing how one student’s dedication, talent, and perseverance helped spark a moment of pride for an entire school community.

PECU was honored to help tell Nigel’s story. Special thanks to Austin ISD and PlayVS for their support in bringing this film to life.
