DO NOT make these mistakes:

1️⃣DON'T fall for scams

You *will* get mail saying you need to pay for a copy of your deed and mortgage insurance. It's a SCAM!

Send your lender or agent a copy of anything you get in the mail so you know what's legit.

2️⃣DON'T miss out on tax exemptions

Your property taxes will be reduced if you're an owner occupant.

Go file for the exemption with your county right after closing and bring your closing documents.

3️⃣ DON'T let your insurance renew without shopping around

Your homeowners insurance is included in your mortgage payment, so it impacts how much you pay monthly.

If you don't shop around yearly, your current insurance company will raise prices and your mortgage payment will increase.

🏡 If your goal for 2026 is to buy a house, DO NOT go broke!
