Great Cherry story. My little brother Glen told me this recently. Mom had a servants heart always did. Back in the 80s during the AIDS epidemic G**s approached Holy Trinity Church in Dallas about holding meetings there on Fridays. So the church held a big meeting to discuss this. The priests were against it and the congregation were against it. Now we were very involved in the parish as mom’ s dad Martin Carl Kleuser designed and built the church in 1942. After some discussion Cherry works her way up to the podium to speak. She said if you have a flat on Central Expressway do you think a straight person will pull over to help. All you women out there with fancy hair doos who do you think does that for you. In true Mom style she announced the gay’s could meet at her house on Friday nights. And they did so for many years to a packed house. Later mom and dad volunteered at the AIDS kitchen on Saturdays.
Sure miss you Mom Oh Honey!!!!
