Durbin Bennett, a pioneer in Austin’s wealth management community, today announced it is rebranding to Maslow Wealth Advisors.
The new name was inspired by the parallels between Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, the theory that humans are motivated by universal physiological and psychological needs, and the hierarchical framework used by the fiduciary firm to establish its clients’ wealth goals. The foundation of our approach to wealth management, the Hierarchy of Wealth, establishes that all financial goals can be categorized along six tiers and that the lower tiers must be planned for and met first before higher tiers are addressed. Strategies first address mandatory financial goals including establishing an emergency cash reserve, separate and in addition to safeguarding future essential living expenses.
As objectives are achieved, financial goals are defined for financing future discretionary living expenses, supporting family and the inner circle, impacting social causes and the community, pursuing aspirational projects, and investing in entrepreneurial endeavors. Through this framework, Maslow clients are unburdened by the stresses of financial planning and can attend to personal goals and fulfillment.
The firm’s new logo comprises a clean, san serif wordmark and a stylized icon inspired by hieroglyphics. The icon, a two-peaked mountain ‘M’ suggesting growth and aspiration, is overlaid with a heart, a symbol of the firm’s commitment to empathy and care for both its clients and employees. When combined, the logo reflects the firm’s commitment to serve its clients at the highest level.
