🏡Cyber criminals are targeting home buyers close to their mortgage closing dates. Entire down payments for homes are being stolen.

The criminals pretend to be the actual real estate agent, escrow officer, or closing attorney. The scam usually takes place via email, with false claims of a last-minute change in the closing process with wiring instructions of where the buyer needs to send the money. This often comes from what appears to be legitimate email with the proper email signature and names of the involved parties.

Before transferring money always call your agent or escrow officer directly to verify the information with a known telephone number.
