Get to know one of our Community Loan Originators, Alex Rodriguez!

1. What has Amplify allowed you to do in your personal life?
Amplify has enriched my personal life, the flexibility of working remotely has been invaluable. It allows me to be more present with my family, picking up my kids from school, helping prepare dinners, and actively participating in school events and volunteering.

2. What's a favorite hobby of yours?
Lately, I've been enjoying some new hobbies like working on my home's landscaping, gardening, and tackling DIY projects such as creating garden wood screen walls or wood planters. I've also started learning how to carve rocks and crystals to make tea light candle holders, which has been a rewarding artistic outlet. And, just for fun, I've been collecting Pokémon cards!

3. What do you find most rewarding about your career?
I've been with Amplify for 17 years, and during this time, I've had the opportunity to move across different departments and learn various ways to serve our members. In my current role as a Community Loan Originator, I guide individuals and families through the homeownership journey and provide financial literacy to underserved communities. It's incredibly rewarding to help people achieve financial stability and share all the great resources Amplify offers.

This morning I had the opportunity to attend the Unlock MLS & Austin Board of Realtors New Member Orientation as an affiliated sponsor, and I absolutely love being in rooms like that.

There’s something powerful about connecting with new Realtors at the beginning of their journey. The energy. The ambition. The hunger to grow.

Shoutout to Barkley — actor, realtor, and hands down one of the funniest creators in real estate content.

This one had me on the floor laughing.
Neil… the loan officer who lives/offices out of his car, magically creates income out of thin air, and somehow qualifies first‑time buyers for million‑dollar homes. Absolute comedy.

Now listen — I’m no Neil, and I definitely don’t count cards 😄
But what I do make sure of is that every homebuyer understands where they truly stand, what options they have, and what steps they can take to reach homeownership the right way.

Kicked off the morning at the Unlock MLS & Austin Board of Realtors – Code of Ethics class.

Proud that Amplify Credit Union was the sponsor for this course, and even more grateful that I stayed to attend the full class. Stephen Etzel - Broker - Real Estate Education was an outstanding instructor, engaging, knowledgeable, and somehow made the Code of Ethics both informative and fun.

Always a great reminder that continuous learning matters in our industry, and that doing the right thing for our clients and partners starts with strong ethics. Great morning with a great group of professionals.
